8-pin PCIe connector Does anyone here have a 2xMolex 4-pin to 8 pin PCIe adapter, or a 6-pin PCIe to 8-pin PCIe adapter I could buy? I can't seem to find one in any retailers, and I need it for the 4870 X2. The HX-620 doesn't come with one and I bought it second hand so Corsair support most likely will be of no help. |

12 dollar shipping on a 8 dollar splitter. Damn. Any Canadian alternative? |
You could make your own. Use two Ground wires and their associated pins from the PCI-E part of a Molex to 6-pin adaptor and keep the wires where they are on the Molex end. Then plug in a single PCI-E connector into the 8-pin area on the card. Use the two Ground wires to put in the remaining two pin-outs on 8-pin connector. If you aren't comfortable with doing that....DON'T. Seriously, contact Corsair and explain your situation. You may be surprised. |

A small hijack.... but still in the same area of concern. I'll eventually go for folding with triple GTX275s, powered by an EliteXstream 1kW. The PSU only has 4 8-pin connectors. For the missing 2, could I use 2 of the following cable, and split the connectors between 2 cards? NCIX.com - Buy Works 6 Pin PCI-E Splitter Cable - 1 PCIe Female 6 Pin to 2 PCIe Male 6+2 Pin (6 or 8) - CB-6M-68F2 In Canada. |
You mean 6-pin connectors, right? |
