Default GTX 285 crashing

Hey guys, ever since i got the gtx285, my pc crashes after about 5 minutes of gaming. I've got everything at stock. I occasionally get a nv4_dis error, and then my screen will go all funny colours etc. Do you think this is a driver issue? I did a fresh install, and installed the newest drivers. Any ideas?

I would try re-installing the drivers, and I think I read something like this on the eVGA forums. If you go into the bios and bump up the frequency of the bus, then apparently it fixes the problem

I take it ImmaPC is referring to the PCI-E bus.

Also...

Check that the card is seated correctly and and power connections are in, it also wouldn't hurt to try different modular PCIE slots or cable on the PSU.

My only thought would be Overheating of the card to cause the artifacting then crashing.
If you have a program that can log your temps I'd check that as well.
Might not be it, but better to cover all bases.

Good Luck,
ST

You might also want to bump up the fan speed for intensive games.

Thanks for your guys adivce. I use everest for when i'm in game. The temp is about 70*c. So, i don't think that heating should be a problem, as my 9800gx2 is in the 80's when games are played on it. I already reseated the card, but I will try it again. Also, I've got both 6pin cables from my psu, they're not the modular cables. I'll try modular cables, but that'll be a big problem accessing that area to put another in, as my pump is right infront of my PSU. When you say up the pci-e bus, i'm assuming you mean in bios?
