Your best bet is to find somebody local who can test out your mem on a different rig.

I often forget that most folks don't have 3 or 4 computers running in the same household.... nothing like having a test-bed handy.

Keep smiling....

Did you try step 5?

Any more news? I thought of many possibilities, but all of them already came up. My picks? Bad RAM or not enough volts during POST (1.8v default).

Good call - and since I'm about to build another rig, I don't want to be caught without any spare RAM.

So I bought this: Crucial Rendition 1GB PC2-5300 DDR2-667 240PIN DIMM Memory

http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...7&promoid=1034

46$ shipped, air freight.

30$ max and ill go to my local store = www.cipc.com The guys over there knows me pretty good I build some comps for friends and bought all the parts there. For my self, i buy online. Always...lol But when it comes to small things like that, i get them over at cipc.

But if the ram reveale itself to be again dead... ill be looking for a brand new board and RAM kit. Now, i might still be able to get an RMA through NCIX.com but if not, then it'll be to G.Skill manufacturer. And thats going to be long surely...

I have been recommended the P5K Dleuxe mobo. Supports DDR3 and futur quad cores.. etc... But now that i have a 8800GTX... i wonder if i should be aiming at a SLI mobo. I like to have the option to go the SLI way...

As for RAM kit... I was thinking of going back with a Team Xtreem PC2-6400 4-4-4-10 just for the heck of it. lol...

What you guys think ?

Oh yeah and no my fathers crappy Dell runs on 256mb DDR SDRAM memory as shows on the awful case. lol ....

Been to cipc a few times, bought some RAM and my Antec PSU over there.

Have you checked out the Mushkin XP2? http://www.ncix.com/products/index.p...N&promoid=1034

Looks very good. Probably my next RAM, for my personal rig.

Mushkin XP2 PC2-8500 2GB 2X1GB DDR2-1066 CL5-5-4-12 240PIN DIMM Dual Channel Memory Kit
