Default Add parallel port on Gigabyte EP45-UD3P

what do Ineed to get to add an interface for a parallel printer that I still prefer to use, the motherboard does have an LPT interface

I presume the motherboard does not have an LPT interface... then

Add in IO card

Why not use one of these ? This will free slots on your PC - I've used this for my old HP DeskJet 712C printer that I sine upgraded to an EPSON with USB. You won't need a parallel port, plugs to USB, and is compliant to the standards, supports bi-directional printing, and faster.
