Help:system freezing

Hi guys i bought and assembled the parts.
At first its working i mean on vista home premium 64bit
but the day after my screen just freezes up
I tried to reinstall vista 64 home prem hoping that it would fix it but it didnt.
It just freezes up on startup even not in windows yet.
I tried using one ram module and its stable unlike using 2 ram modules at vista 64bit but after sometime it just freezes up again so i decided to remove the suspected ram module and install windows xp prof 32bit. It was going well after 2-3hrs then i installed far cry 2 and played after a few mins but it froze up again w/ 1stick of ram module. I really dont know what to do to now. Now its pretty stable. I didnt overclock anything.

Mobo:EVGA 132 YW E178 A1 nVidia nForce 780i
RAM:OCZ DDR2 PC2-8500 1066MHz Reaper HPC Edition 4Gb (2x2gb)
CPU: Intel Q9450
OS: WinXP pro 32bit (At the moment)
VidCard: EVGA Geforce GTX260 Core 216 Superclocked 896Mb
Powersupply: 850W Corsair

Hi guys im still trying to root out the problem I did some prime95 test on each ram module heres what i found:

both 1 stick of ram running prime95 is okay but when i try to put 2sticks of ram and reboot it would just freeze up there sometimes i can go in windows but when i try to play the "FarCry 2" game bundle up w/ evga videocard running 2 sticks of ram it would just freeze up. Also, if i insert the Farcry2 Cd in the DVD-ROM and boot up running 2sticks of ram it would just freeze up at welcome screen. Please guys a lil help

With only one stick of ram installed update your vista to date, there is a patch in there that fixes issues with ram over 4 gigs, could be your problem.

If that doesn't work:

I'm assuming your not overclocking your CPU nor your ram atm; if you are, set to stock values.

try using different ramslots, meby one of those is bunk

or you could try Downloading riva tuner and set your vid card to stock 260 values, your video card is factory overclocked, but that doesnt mean its completely stable. (i dont believe its the vid card, but we need to remove all doubt)

Oh its okay now its just my cpu somebody told me that it could be improper HSF mount. i just reseated the HSF and its pretty stable atm. My first mount of HSF it soars upto 72*C on load and i saw on intel site that c2q q9550 thermal spec. is 71.2*C and now i reseated the HSF its only 63* max load on 3.2Ghz OC . Thanks for your reply though.
