Hello, I have recently bought a Asrock 4CoreDual - vsta motherboard along with a Pentium D 925 3Ghz processor and installed them into my computer using the parts from my previous one (2x 512Mb DDR 333 Ram, sata hdd, and XFX Nvidia FX5600 XT video card) and after installation of all the parts I started it up and nothing appeared on the monitor...its just goes to power saving mode!!! The speaker doesn't really beep either...just makes an attempt. PSU and CD drive worked fine, the heatsink fan works and so does the case fan but I cannot see what the problem would be. Any help would be greatly apprecaited for novice. Thanks, Josh |

Do you have another vid card you can swap in? Some folks have reported issues with certain cards. (I'm running a 4CoreDual-VSTA as well).

Hi guys, Thanks for the response on this. I have tried another vid card which I knows works and then put my vid card into another comp and that worked so I assumed that the vid card is working still. I also did this with the RAM. This is why I am a bit confused as to why its not working. I also did ensure that all the components are plugged in properly. I stripped it right down and re-checked everything along with the 4 pin connector. Hope this helps in some way :| Josh |

All I can think of is to try a c-mos reset (there's no jumper for the pins so you can just short it out (with the power off of course) with a screwdriver if you don't have a spare jumper laying around). If that doesn't work, I'd start looking around for a different slot format vid card to see if it will get you into bios to check the settings. Does the HD actually spin up? If so then it sounds like it is a vid problem.

SS WILSON!!!! My saviour! lol.....shorted c-mos out with a screwdriver and re-started. I have life on the monitor so hopefully it should all be working once I get OS installed. That will have to wait as it was a good excuse to buy a new graphics card but I tried it with the one I had and it worked fine. Cheers, Josh |

Good to hear that you're up and running. Let us know how you make out running that board. (I did the review on this site for it, but I'm interested in how it works with different hardware). Do you plan to OC?

Not planning to OC straight away as it was quite a major upgrade from what I had originally so I will be impressed with the running speed but will let you know if I do. I will inform you to on how it comes along but so far I'm liking the adaptability for upgrade as I haven't had to buy all the mega expensive new stuff in one go! |

As it ends up, I'm only going to have been running it in my main rig for a couple of months before the full upgrade is done, but it sure helped me make the leap to C2D over the short term.
