So the conclusion over the PMs with CORE was that pictures of different colours ARE doubles. So for products that come in different colours, you must add each colour as a seperate product, then put the corresponding pictures to each submission. This way you actually get more points! But I am wondering why this rule exists in the first place. What good does it do?

It would be nice if someone added this rule somewhere (maybe the rewards page) so people don't do this in the future. I wish I knew before.

I just find it easier to upload pics b/c making a product takes longer. Not to be a point-whore, but it does work much better.... I would like some clarification on stuff like that.

Part of the reason for this is because 9/10 products with different colours have different part numbers from the manufacturer. So they are indexed, built and sold as unique products.

Say for an Acer Aspire One which is the exact same thing but with different shell colours - They are marketed and sold as different products, and often at different prices. Many times retailers will have sales on one colour but not another and won't PM.

For something like the above scenario, I wouldn't suggest doing a separate submission for each colour either. Just specifiy in the features that it is available in XXX/XXX/XXX and XXXX" and if your feeling really nice - add the individual SKU's for them

You can also quickly photoshop the different colours of one product into a single picture.

I would rule that even if you have a single photo with 4 laptops of a different colour, on the same angle as a larger single photo of a single laptop, that BOTH of those pictures are acceptable.

If a product has only ONE SKU, but can be purchased in different colours (rare but it happens) PM a TechWiki Mod, or one of the Forum Mod's (myself and Gav included) and we can make sure it gets approved.

Regarding the missing points. It may have been because you were awarded points for the deleted photos before a refresh and when a second refresh happened the appropriate points were deducted. Not 100% sure about the code side of things.

Wow, you take a break from the Techwiki for a couple days and you really miss out! Not like I had the points for any of the new stuff anyway, but wow those were some great rewards
