Default Price Comparison

So I was looking to do some price comparison today and I found that our hardwarecanucks pricecanada.com was great!
Canadian Prices: Search. Compare. Buy. - Canadian Online Shopping Search and Comparison!

However I also found that Shopbot found many deals that pricecanada didn't because, I'm assuming that the companies arn't registered with pricecanada.
Compare prices - Canada - Price Comparison - Comparison Shopping

So I was thinking that it would be a good idea to try and get a HWC Price Compare 1&2, or better yet, to get it to use both shopbot and pricecanada.

Or if none is possible (should pricecanada be paying to advertise their services here... and shopbot won't...), at least a mention of websites to check out when doing a price comparison (sticky in Hot Deals section maybe?)

Well I do use Pricecanada occasionally, but shopbot I found offers way more deals, and always shows me where the lowest prices are.

Shopbot is great, but I find a lot of sellers on there who I have no idea as to their reputation, business practices or even if they are legit. Pricecanada has reputable, and "confirmed" sellers to use the term loosely. Many of the sellers are "larger" e-tailers who are actual business and not Joe Blow selling products out of his basement.

Diluting the price comparison engine with the extras SB shows would really hurt the quality of the comparison and be detrimental to us consumers in the end I would think.

Who cares if they are Joe Blow selling out of there basement! The point of it is to match it with NCIX, and if NCIX matches it with Joe Blow, then thats who i want more Joe blows selling sketchy things out of their basements!

I agree Shopbot is far superior to Pricecanada. I've always known this and when I recently came to HWC and noticed they offered a price compare feature using pricecanada I just assumed it was a advertising partnership between the two. Now another interesting thing I've noticed about shopbot.ca is that they show sales over at NCIX that are not found by any other price comparison website because here to I assume Shopbot and NCIX have some sort of advertising partnership. Look at the links and wrap your brain around the last part of the url where it says promoid. I think if you price compare enough you'll see a trend and even HWC has thier own special Promo id assigned to them from NCIX just as Shopbot does. Now look at HWC's sponsored deals, every one has a promoid of 1120 and I believe Shopots promoid is 1066 for specials that NCIX has assigned to them and also notice that never have I found a site using the same promoid or offer the exact same product. I'm trying to find more promoid NCIX partners but have yet to find any but I'm positive there are more out there. I don't rely solely on these partnership deals to find the lowest prices around, I have a list of 8 etailers which I also check on a regular basis that have better deals and can be used to pricematch over at NCIX. The interesting part with these stores is that they to have promotional deals with other pricematching services which can further reduce prices. *BTW NCIX's internal promoid is 1043 for thier inhouse suprise specials. Maybe one day when I really bored I'll spider (site rip) NCIX's entire site and find other promotional partners specials but it's probably a huge task of finding needles in a haystack just to save $1-2 bucks lol. In my experience I have found Pricecanada to be slow to update, lists incorrect sales prices and has one of the most limited database of computer retailers to price compare from. Shopbot as well has a very limited db of computer retailers but at least they have some sort of partnership deals with ncix.

Shopbot also have some delay to update, but I agree to say that it's one of if not the best canadian price compare website. I used it to find the best deal for my nikon D40 reflex camera last fall and it found a london, ontario based shop and I paid at least 50$ less than anywhere. I used it also for computer parts but 9 times on 10 it found the best price on directcanada . Now I start by looking on directcanada and take a look to shopbot to be sure .
