Default PC monitor round up?

Hey, I am thinking about buying a new monitor around the 21 inch range. Could you do an article on what is available these days in monitor tech? Which resolutions are available, and how the different technologies work. I see that there is TN, IPS, A-IPS, PLS, PVA...

An article that does some brief education on these things and then compares a few different models would be awesome.

At that size your pretty much only going to get TN, 22 or 23" for IPS. and I believe it's 27" for PLS.

What got me thinking about it what the latest copy of Maximum PC, which had an article called "Panels on Parade". They compared 6 models ranging from 23-27 inches, talked about refresh rates and TN vs IPS. It was pretty good, but after reading the article I thought HWC could do a better job.

There are some 21" MVA monitors (or 21.5", can't remember), if you're not too worried about fast game performance.

It's certainly a possibility. We have Dell, ASUS, Samsung, Philips and Viewsonic all on board for monitor reviews. However, these companies have such wide-ranging product stacks that any "roundup" would likely take months and involve dozens of monitors. By the time it would be done, new models would be out.

We prefer doing individual reviews but the suggestion has been noted and I'll look into it.
