Default Embedding and Images

Is there a way to embed pics using HTML code or is that a security risk too? Maybe a way to upload from my machine instead of just an URL?

There's an option to upload images on posts when you're in advanced mode (select "post reply" as opposed to using the "Quick Reply" box on the bottom).
