I buy and sell here all the time and think it's fine. Just look for heatware or ebay feedback on a seller before purchasing and you will be fine. If you buy from sellers with none it is your own $ you are risking. And if it sounds too good to be true, IT IS.

Although I still sell at OCF when I have to, I hate the classifieds there. I once posted something saying that the buyer had to cover CC paypal fee and took a huge public thrashing from a mod throughout the thread as if I was the biggest thief and scammer on the internet. Sure its a rule, but I didnt know about it and it is allowed everywhere else so I dont think I deserved the treatment I got. A simple "charging paypal fee is not allowed" would have sufficed.

My point is I dont want to see this site turn into that.

I agree, its not perfect. I don't think any site can be. Personally I like how this site only has 1 section in it, as it can get confusing with many sections and when you're selling multiple things under different sections.

And as I said, I've never been burned here, which is more than I can say for OCF.

I just like to jump in and say the members here tend to point out the obvious to new sellers before we get a chance.
ie. Images , heatware links, locations, ect. I for one appreciate it, nothing like getting home to have to make 5 posts asking for images, before I get to read anything let alone make a post.
Kudos and Thanks!

I think the main problem with the "dodgy transaction" was there was no shipping insurance-among other things. Insisting that all trades are insured would help.

Anyway I feel more comfortable trading here than ebay. Some of the best ways to spot a reliable deal here is when people start switching old items out their sigs..once you've been here awhile you know that the item being sold should work and does exist.

Agreed, I've been lurking(a lot) and I don't much think we need mods to cover us, we should be able to handle ourselves. Though I dunno how I will manage to sell my Freezone Elite in a month or so like I planned(never sold a single thing over teh interwebs).
