Default Viewing Images if not logged in.

Hey, just want to know if you can make images viewable to anyone, as I have sent some links out to some friends who do not have accounts with us, but I just want to show them things, like my PC or something. The images just don't show unless they are logged in.

Hmmmmmm

That's wierd. I don't have any problem viewing images without logging on, but that might be because the images are already cached.......

Are you sending them a link to the post with the picture(s), or just a link to the picture itself?

I was at a local PC shop mid Dec and was poking around some of the PSU review threads without trouble while not logged in.(even a small fraction of that amount of pictures are brutal on dialup all at the same time unless thumbnails are used.. even then if there are enough it hurts)

Anyway, I don't think I have ever had a problem with not seeing images while using other browsers on the same machine without logging in either. Not sure about attachments though.

Hmm, wierd indeed. Every time I send a link to a post here on the forums, the people I send it to say back to me that they need to make an account in order to see the pictures. I obviously tell them to make an account cause this is a great site, but it just seems weird to me.

ok, post a link to one of the threads that issues were had with then we can check it out using either different hardware or just different browsers while not logged in.
That, or just post a small image in this thread in the same way the others were posted.

Because your doing it as an attachment I think.

Upload it to the VB Image Host first and then link to the image from that.

Ahh, yes, attached images. I was talking about the inline or embedded or whatever images like the ones in all the PSU review threads and hardware show-off threads.
Oh well, perhaps just post thumbnails with one of many free image hosting sites if you want non-members to see your pictures?

*Edit, whoops, left this post typed up but not submitted for too long and cause it to be unnecessarily late.
