*locked* threads in BST

Just going to state an observation. When a seller breaks a rule(s), which is usually by not providing a picture of the item for sale/trade.. the thread gets locked..

However, when I see a locked thread icon, I ALWAYS click it, and I'm sure I'm not alone, because I noticed a trend that locked threads get a bunch of views, everyone wants to see why it locked. This gives the seller that is breaking the rules more page views = not the goal!

So, why not delete it instead?

Thanks for reading.

So that when the seller is ready to comply with the rules, the thread can be unlocked.

Yes, but my point was by breaking the rules, they give themselves more views..

I just think locked BST threads should be invisible until it gets sorted out..

now that makes sense too me too mate good point making them invisible so people don't want to look at the car crash on the side of the road

Let me explain it this way. When I post a message in the thread, then they see the reason for the lock, and others know what rules have been broken so they won't do it when they post their own threads. And I don't have to write a PM, and the thread is still available to edit the pictures into.

Or I could be a total hardass, and delete them permanently. I prefer the way I'm doing it now.

If I had a hard time following the BST rules (that resulted in a thread lock), I would not want a bunch of page views as those folks might be wary of dealing with me then.

I know I have passed over a few threads where the seller seems to think the rules don't apply to them, or seem to have great trouble reading simple instructions. Just asking for trouble IMO. So I might view the thread, but it certainly is not good publicity.
