From what I understand (and I may be wrong), Google ads aren't about money at all. Google takes a "you scratch my back, I scratch yours" attitude which means if you don't run their ads, your placement on Google searches suffers.

Well... technically the queen is still our highest power in canada and could if she wanted to pass into law whatever she wanted. She won't because of the backlash but our head of state is still the queen

The Queen DOES in fact sign off on every law thats passed in Canada, she can even choose not to if she wishes.

Nothing that AdBlock cannot easily fix. I block all ads from every website I visit.

Unfortunately ad blocking (on our end) is a reactive thing. When we see an ad that we don't like/approve of such as the above mentioned it gets added to the blacklist but we can't check the box "Don't show ads people don't like"

Ads are different for everyone depending on what you are reading, keywords on the page what advertiser is targeting your area etc etc.
Personally, I see mostly LG, Paypal, Ebay, the occasional "Buy Lowest Video Cards" and mostly computer related service stuff.

The Google ads have been added to the most inconspicuous area of the website so as to hopefully tone down on the annoyance.
If you see something you don't like - just be sure to let us know and we will attempt to get rid of it (though as we saw with Swoopo thing they often can host multiple domains)
