Default GPU Reviews: Left 4 Dead 2 Performance

Any plans to add this into your next GPU reviews being a newer game and all?

Cost of the game not considered though it is on sale @ NCIX for $39.99 this week ;)

I think SKYMTL offers a poll for which new games they'd like to see in the reviews when the need arises. Quite frankly, there just aren't enough new games out yet to change the list.

Seriously though, with the move to the Win 7 test platform in the next months, you will see a whole new set of games being tested.

Yeah, maxed out at 1680x1050 I can still keep over 175 frames without issue. I don't think it's really any different though for graphics power compared to L4D1. Now, with that said, it definitely wouldn't hurt having L4D2.

Maxed at 2560 x 1600 with 16xQAA runs smooth. Love the gore in the game but not a leap in graphics so performance will be like what SKY said. Copy and Paste.

It's a Source game. Any decent GPU made in the last several years can handle it without too much trouble.

This. My ATI Mobility Radeon 4830 can get 60 fps constant at low settings at 1920x1080, but I'm sure I can get more than playable framerates if I bump it up more.

My GeForce 7700 GO on my laptop that's 4 years old can play L4D on satisfactory settings as well.

Well the reason I posted was with Left 4 Dead 2 and the Gore levels set to high, I actually get surprisingly quite a bit of studder.

System is the one in my signature.

Maybe a moderator can move this to another forum.

Yup. The Source engine loves a good CPU, though. I went from an X1900XT with a 3800+ X2 to an 8800GTS 640MB and saw almost no performance gain in Source based games. As soon as I upgraded to an E6420 with the same card, the frames were screaming.
