sponsored deal, off button?

so i was wondering.

is there a way to turn off the sponsor deal under every single posts?

a few days ago it was only on the first post but now its everywhere

Adblock plus + Firefox is your friend

im all for helping to pay the bills but when sites become a billboard, i open adblock plus and just block anything not based on the site im at, its amazing how much useful info fits on your screen

that common advertising companies i have programmed right into the router at home, and the gateway at work

damn i just notice that every sponsored deal under the post are different

It blocks the picture but the text is still there... half the battle won I guess

Actually, this is a first step in having those monthly Sponsored deals back. But instead of only NCIX, the deals will be from different vendors.

You guys want some, or not?

Interesting way to implement them, though I kind of agree, it's annoying having it on every post.

I don't even really notice it, and you guys only do now because it's new... after awhile you won't even pay attention to them ;) I dont think thats what the sponsors want to hear but its pretty true lol

I'm not trying to be pessimistic here, Charlie. How are these really 'sponsored deals'? I mean, I can get these prices not being a member of these forums, and sometimes find better prices then whats shown..

The idea is that some of these will eventually become "daily" deals and will rotate on a regular basis.
Also the public had free access to our "sponsored deals" you just had to visit the the thread for a link. This is supposed to be the same idea.


It is a part of the "TechWiki" deals feature: Hot Deals - TechWiki
So it is an in house thing rather than us selling out the website - We want to bring the hot deals to you guys so you are aware of them and we are trying to spur retailers in offering exclusive discounts.

It is a two way street - we want to be able to offer great deals on products from local retailers - and retailers want to get something for offering an exclusive deal.
