I know sites need $ to operate so I tolerate gif ads but flash ads that eat cpu are annoying and always blocked

Your bombarded by 2 ads at most, and at least they are generally relevant and provide good info, unlike some ridiculous google ads on most sites
If you can't handle it... maybe the internet isn't for you
Web servers that have MAJOR sponsors behind the scenes do not need ads.

Web sites that have "MAJOR" sponsors behind the scenes without relying on a wide range of advertisers might be seen to be beholden to those sponsors when it comes time to write reviews............

From what I know, having a major sponsor (Newegg, NCIX or ibuypower for some US sites for example) is par for the course. Personally, I would rather have one major sponsor that isn't a manufacturer rather than 10 manufacturer sponsors.

Agreed. I am not trying to start an argument. I just wish there was a simple option to disable ads. I'd like to see this on ALL forums but I know this isn't a reality. I have nothing against a site generating revenue since I personally do not want to pay for forum access. I did not mean to offend anyone.

No one was offended. There is no worries about that and you bring up a good point.

There are some sites out there with a massive number of ads and others that refuse you access to their site if you use an ad blocker so things here could be worse. We want to make the ads as transparent as possible which is why in some cases we push to have even the colors of said ads changed so they fit with the design a bit better. All in all, I think we have accomplished the goal of integrating them into the site's overall design but there will always be issues here and there with one that may be a memory hog. That is why we appreciate you guys keeping a look-out for things we may miss during testing.
