Posting pics to the thread

I apologize if this is the wrong section to ask this, and for my general lack of knowledge when it comes to forums. Could someone explain how to post a pic directly into a reply? I've tried the insert image button, but it just pulls up a URL box like the insert link button. If I want an image to appear directly in the reply without having to click a hyperlink, what do I do?

Use the VB Image Host feature of our website (upper L/H of the page) to upload the image, and then cut/paste the IMG link from "your images" (the first text block) into your post. If you want the image centered, just select the text (first post) or the image (if you're editing) and change the text formatting in the advanced editing box.

You can also get a photobucket account, and when you upload pics it will give you the forum IMG code you just copy and paste that right into your reply.

Thanks much for the quick replies. I'll try it out in the member's rig pics thread.

Why not do a test run in here, and then it'll be easy for me to have a look at the text if it doesn't work for you...... :)

Personally, I find that TehUpload is better than most. It's simple and it does what you want. It also doesn't have resolution restrictions, like the VB Image Host does.

Ok...here goes...

At least, I thought here goes. I'm doing something wrong. I uploaded a pic of my rig to my profile through the VB Image Host, then right clicked on it and copied the image. When I go to paste it into this box, nothing happens. Sorry for being a pain in the ass...any suggestions?

The IMG code should be URL, rather than a location on your PC itself. Usually ends in .jpg (or whatever format.. .gif, png, etc...)

Like this: (with no *)

[*IMG]http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b108/Jake_HT/fah8.png[/IMG*]

Ok...that would be when you're linking to a site like photobucket, right? What I'm wondering is how do you get the actual image to show up in the post without having to click a hyperlink?
