User CP. Edit ignore list. I don't know if it actually works or not, but I've been tempted a time or two. But I usually just don't open threads once they become heated exchanges or another rehash of XP vs. Vista.

Never had to use this function - and don't think it's a good idea - I have nothing against heated debates and people disagreeing - it's one thing to have heated debates and personal attacks is another thing - Sometimes a good heated debate is not bad as long as it remains about the topic and not the person. And....if people are not able to take the heated topics, or strongly opinionated people, then I guess they must have a hard time in real life because there is heat all around us ;)

If the heated exchanges are actually debates, and substantiated by facts, I don't mind reading them. I find that a lot of the time they become exchanges of opinions, not backed up by facts, and then degenerate into mudslinging from there.

It's funny, I can sometimes tell who's going to post on certain subjects just by the thread titles.

As for the couple of people I was considering ignoring, they don't post here anymore.

Gawd please yes - We need an ignore function.

So tired of having to read crap by that SKYMTL fellow.
Get sum edumacation dood.

But seriously - Just skip over stuff. If a particular user gets to be troublesome, feel free to report the incident and the mods can take a look.
If it is deemed to be a detriment to the forum then it will be removed or other action taken.
Otherwise pretend it is like your talking in a big circle. You may not like Billy-Bob on the other side, but when he is talking you either actively ignore or just suffer through it.

Wouldn't it be nice to have an auto-ignore function in ones brain for speaking - Boy would women everywhere be PIST!
