Default Seagate warranty turnaround time?

Anyone know how long it takes to get your drive back from Seagate when you send it in under warranty? I'm about to mail my screwed up drive, but i'm worried my new drive is also messed and I don't want to pay 25 bucks again to get proper shipping materials I'd rather wait for the first drive to get back if it's remotely quick.

You paid $25 to ship that ? I would not have spent that much money, considering I can get a brand new one for $50 - not worth it IMO. I would buy a new one and wait for seagate to send another one and use it as backup. Just make sure you check the drives first.

What's all this I hear about failing HD lately, looks like Seagate has some major problems lately with a high RMA rate........ They are heading the same door as Maxtor. It seems that ever since they acquired Maxtor they have gone downhill!

No, I paid 25 bucks to get a box with some foam in it. And I did buy a second drive I was planning to set up RAID when i got it back, but apparantly buying the same one may not have been a great idea.
