Default Internal Card Reader Question..

Right now i have an internal card reader on my emachines w2888.
I use it quite frequently (SD and MC mainly), so right now i'm planning a new build and wondering if it is possible to transfer it to a new build?

It doesn't seem to use IDE and i doubt it uses sata, it uses this black cable that connects to the mobo, so i'm kinda unsure on this.

Also not sure if this is the right section.. please move if wrong.

It's USB - I've worked on a sad large # of Emachines. It also has a USB port on the card reader which will give it away ;D yes you can transfer it to another case but it's going to look ugly cause the silver front bezel will need a paint job and it's rounded and not flat as most cases are.

I wonder if there's any card reader that would use the floppy ribbon.

I've never seen one in any retail system, but you can get a floppy + card reader but i'm 99% sure it would use both the floppy cable and the usb or maybe even just usb.

Hmm not sure from th behind doesn't look like USB but i am hoping it is, regarding the ugly silver finish i'll rip that off and improvise something, i'll be acquiring an Antec 900 Gamer case in th near future, so i'll try and find something black lol.

Just buy a blank drive bay cover that'll fit the antec 900 and cut it to fit around your flash reader.

If you're buying the case new - you'll have a spare one from when you put in your optical drive. So then it already matches you just have to do the cutting.
