Default G.Skill 64GB SATAII SSD Review Comments

Excellent review AkG. More than enough information to test this drive against the best. Keep an eye out on your typos though lol. Never trust spellchecker!

Now for my thoughts of the SSD:

1) Looks pretty killer with the brushed exterior.
2) Would be perfect for a laptop if you have the money to drain $800 into it.
3) Velociraptor is where it's at for desktops. Even the 640GB 2 platter.

Thanks!

Every single thing inside was made by Samsung, yet sold by G.Skill lol. It sure looks great, but IMO SSDs still have a long ways to go before I'll pick one up.

One other thing, 1 year warranty? What a joke. Who in their right mind would spend $1K on a drive when it only has that.

Yeah, that is a MAJOR issue. It is like they don't have confidence in the technology.

Just to play devils advocate here....but I truly doubt the chips will wear out before the average joe chucks the system (i.e. the avg laptop will "wear out" before the SSD does)...but I still wouldn't touch it due to the crappy warranty... I'd buy the Samsung "OCZ" branded one first ;)

When do you expect SSD to become mainstream, not the elitist?
