Default What HDD for gaming build?

Needs to be 2tb or 4tb and 7200rpm, looking at WD blacks or a barracuda Pro? I've been out of the Hard drive world a while since my last drive was a trusty Samsung! Also had a look at the HGST drives but there are a overwhelming amount of drives available.

Any advice and suggestions would be great!

If gaming, the Seagate hybrid, the Firecuda, fastest HDD in the 7200 RPM class. Also, has 5 year warranty, like the blacks.

How are Seagate for reliability though, I heard some bad press on them or was that only the 3tb drives?

I have had a seagate hybrid for years now, still shows perfect health. Great drives. I put a second one in my HTPC last spring.

I think I might give it a try over the WD Black then. Reviews had me worried but then again people are more incline to write a bad review than praise something for being reliable after a several months/years.

Western Digital Black 6TB HDD Review

The 6TB Black is about as good as it gets for HDD but the general Seagate / Toshiba 3TB 7200rpm still overtake the lesser 2TB / 4TB WD Black drives.

Any HDD can fail, if you are that worried you should buy a pair, and keep them in raid 1.

Absolutely agree with you but I think Seagate got bad rep because of those dodgy 1.5/3tb drives a while ago. I'm unfortunately limited to one main drive since it's a mITX build
