Default Kingston HyperX Predator 480GB SSD Review Comment Thread

Kingston's HyperX Predator is fast, adaptable and expensive but how does its performance fare against Intel's new SSD 750 Series and other high end PCI-E SSDs?

After the 750 reviews, I'm a little 'meh' on this one. If I was putting together an X99, the 750 would be a more appealing choice. On another system, I'd probably hold out and see if I could get a sale on the G.Skill or see what else is coming around the corner. It's not a bad drive, but I just wouldn't feel I needed one.

But I'm not the best judge since I always have a couple identical SSDs for a RAID 0 kicking around.

I was actually wondering who was going to come out with a PCIe card that would be compatable with us lowly hardware users.

Hmm...For my editing machine moving to PCI-E based SSD seems to be the future, as all my SATA ports on ASUS X79 Pro are already occupied. Loving the performance #s!

I wonder how well this would work in a 2x slot? Every Other PCIE device I can think of works with reduced lanes, just takes a performance hit.

Wow! This thing is 3x faster than the plextor drive. It even beats an Intel 530 raid setup.
