Default I scored a Crucial M500 240GB for $89

So,

I guess it's decent price ($89)for a middle of the road SSD. The writes on the 240Gb iteration of the M500 are somewhat slow, but the price is right...
My question: As I will install either my old yet top shape (low use) Intel 120Gb or the new Crucial 240Gb in my laptop as an OS drive, which one of the 2 would be better for laptop use?

I wouldn't go for a 120gb at this point unless its for something you know you won't be installing much on. Grab the 240gb crucial. As you said, its not cutting edge, but at that price its a great drive. You will be looking at adding $40+ to get the same capacity with faster performance and the same or better reliability.

I bought the 240Gb for the price, but I initially wanted a MX-100 512GB. So I'll put the 240GB in the laptop and treat myself with a MX100 512GB game drive on my main rig (tax time)!

I would sooner pick up a less capacity Intel drive over a corsair. Having just done a huge file swap to my Intel 730 from a corsair and another Intel drive. The Intel drive completely destroyed the corsair.

The 240 is fine for a lappy... Your gaming rig would be better suited with an Intel.
