Default Samsung 840 Pro 256GB SSD Review Comment Thread

After numerous revisions and countless updates, Samsung's 840 Pro has gone from an old timer to one of the best SSDs on the market. In this review, we look at the latest revision.

I really hesitated with posting this one due to Samsung's shoddy Canadian customer support but we couldn't ignore this drive forever.

The way you're talking about versions/revisions is kind of confusing - AFAIK there's only every been one SKU per size of the 840 Pro (MZ-whatever).

Also the 840 Pro launched with 21nm MLC NAND back in 2012, the 840 is 21nm TLC, only the 830 was 27nm MLC.

I reread it and those lines were confusing. Edited now for clarity.

you mean there are 2 revisions of the 840 Pro?

I was thinking of buying an 840 Pro 512 GB to add to my collection of SSDs (check sig)
