Default Need some serious RAID card help..

I just installed an LSI megaraid 9040 i4 card in my system.

Specs : Asus P5N32-E Sli board

Windows 7x86

Put the card in on a PCI-e 16x slot and I keep getting this : no physical memory is available at the location required.

Anyone know what I could do ? I tried different PCI slots with no effects. Tried booting with 1 stick of ram, no effects. Ran Memtest86 on the Ram, no issues detected. The system boots in windows when the PCI slot is not populated with the Raid card.

So this happens at post? Try disabling onboard devices. Unfortunately it still may not work. Lots of boards and most especially Nvidia boards have issues w/ various raid card and other cards that have bioses that need to load at post.

I disabled all onboard devices ( short of SATA) and no dice.. As soon as it's done going through the LSI bios it goes straight to the physical memory error.

Try starting a elevated command prompt with admin privledges then run that same command.

I'd suggest placing that directory in the root of C to make it easier.

I started reading on it ... so the WDCFG file has to be dumped in system32 which I have done. Also created an LSI folder. and now I have to install the driver through a command line interface "command prompt"...I am so lost.

Why are you using WDCFG? It's not even the driver itself. From the manual:

Quote:
Wdcfg provides run-time control over various configuration parameters which configure LSI host storage
drivers used on the Windows operating system.
Quote:
Wdcfg allows manipulation over a varfiety of driver configuration parameters. Note that some
parameters can have a seriously adverse affect upon system operation if set incorrectly, so the user is
cautioned to exercise care when using WDCFG.
