Super Talent USB 3.0 Express DRAMDisk
Saw this press release on TPU: Super Talent USB 3.0 Express DRAMDisk Now Available | techPowerUp
I'm a little confused by the marketing Chinglish.
I originally thought that this was just external RAM meant for power users, but upon reading the product page and "data sheet" it seems this is non volatile memory. I know that non volatile DRAM exists, but AFAIK it's only in research labs and far from being available to even enterprise level consumers. What confuses me even more is the MLC NAND mentioned. So it sounds like it's merely a regular USB 3.0 that uses RAM caching?
Someone care to enlighten me? This seems to be almost as bad as Thermaltake marketing. :angry2:
