Default SSD for linux boot+mysql?

Hi all,

I am nearing completion of my server and I figured I could use some input on what SSD to purchase for the box. Below are my uses cases and size required.

Use Cases:
Ubuntu OS/Boot (though the box is 24/7)
MySQL db (Max 5 connections, low IOPS)
DB size = 500megs/year

I would like to use the SSD for the next 5 years or so...

OS = 25gigs~
DB = 500megs x 5 years
20% overhead
= 33gigs

So I'm probably going to put a 60gig+ drive in the box as I am hoping this can last even longer.

What do you guys recommend?

When I stroke the beard thusly...

ISO a low latency midi drum pad.

Samsung 840 Pro if you can find one cheap, a 128gb model. What's this for? A MySQL box? Truth be told, I doubt you'd have an issue even with the TLC drives with your workload.

Doubt there'd be any major difference in your application between that, and the Crucial or the Intel's.
