Question HELP: Need A Hard Drive Replacement

Hi fellows,

What is the top of the line FAST internal hard drive for my Win 7 X64 operating system and games that you are recommending these days?

I will be using it for gaming on my desktop and other various computer tasks.

Thank you in advance for the advise.

Cordially,

CG

you have an ssd?

Personally I'd go WD black for fast HDD, not too dear and 5 yr warranty.. used loads never had a failure (touches wood)
Seagate barracuda is SLIGHTLY faster but 2 yr warranty and seen loads fail. though my brother has one and had no issues yet.. also fairly cheap
WD Blue is good general use drive. 3yr warranty so not as high spec or fast as a Black but quieter and cheaper.

Raptor is the fastest but REALLY expensive for spindle drives.
Anything higher and your looking at server / enterprise stuff.

adding to system or main drive?

is your system OEM ? for has a hidden partition for factory restore

and its a HDD or SSD drive your wanting to use

if as a main and OEM need to clone orginale drive then keep it as back-up

Question

Hi, I am looking for a state of the art internal SSD. Is there one or two that stand out as the best? Or is there one that has just come out that is bleeding edge technology?

Thank you,

CG

Nothing that is amazingly outstanding..

Personally I would get whichever of the top few that gives you good warranty.. so Intel 520.. annnd whatever else is good :D

Not had to do much with SSD's apart from using.. Just don't get something that you have to send to the states.. eg Samsung
