Hybrid drives aren't really a drive for desktops. For the price of a hybrid you can get a decent SSD. Leave the Hybrids for laptops.

Corrected that in bold. I'd agree with you, but the OP called for 500GB of storage which is why I suggested a hybrid if he was on a limited budget. Then he made it clear he could afford the big SSD, and we kicked hybrids to the curb.

Holly shitsies: SanDisk Extreme 240GB SSD Review my uber fast IDE Raptor is on the bottom, appearing quite insignificant. Unbelievable but I'm trying to believe :) thanks guys you solved this for me!
