Default Intel 335 Series 180GB SSD Review Comment Thread

Intel's new 335 Series 180GB offers something for everyone. From performance, to efficiency, to longevity this new SSD incorporates features normally seen on high end drives but it is wrapped up into a package which comes in under the $175 mark. For anyone who wants lightning fast boot times on a budget, it doesn't get any better than this.

Considering you can pick up a 520 series drive of the same size for a few bucks more (180gb @ $190), these are kinda meh. Sure, the performance difference isn't huge between the two, but you lose out on the extra years of warranty. The 520s hover around $1/gb, often a little bit less. The 335 should be at most $.75/gb to be competitive, otherwise paying the little extra will get you way more value. Having a smaller size, like a 120gb would be a nice choice to have as well.

Yes but you are comparing MSRP to sale price. IE 'apples to oranges'.

Give it a bit to find its niche and for the retail channels to start carrying it in greater number. ;)
