Default RMA with OCZ

Hi,

I just had to fill out a form with OCZ to send back my Agility 3 SSD. Is it common practice to charge the clients for shipping cost to send the device back ?? Just wondering if I should call them and fight this, I don't feel like I should be responsible for paying to ship the device.

Thoughts ?

Very common these days, WD,Seagate and Corsair all do but you can opt for Advanced RMA and get your stuff faster and I think there's no shipping there but they hold money on a CC

It's a depot warranty. It's up to you to get it to the repair depot. The only company I've dealt with that covered shipping both ways was Samsung on a monitor RMA.

Im in the middle of an OCZ RMA right now actually. 60gb Vertex 2 died on me. Cost me 8$ and change to send it back. I personally think the 2" of padding around the item was a bit much lol. Let you know how this goes.

OCZ actually has a awesome RMA ask trayton helped him RMA a bus load of OCZ drives it was very laid back and simple even have a personal rep with them now which makes it way easier.

Free shipping MSI laptops, ASUS laptops and LCD's are the list of free ones I have dealt with lots.

damn eh? Piss poor customer service if you ask me!!

I guess no point in picking up the phone and arguing.

Fudd Rucker, I agree about the 2" padding. A little excessive.

Thanks guys!

It'll cost you $3.80 to mail that back. Wrap RMA form around drive, wrap paper around the both, write the address and RMA# on it. Go to post office and ask for lettermail.
I did the same thing myself a few months back with my OCZ Agility 3. They were surprisingly quick at the RMA. They did ship it back ground which is the norm but they only had the drive for 3-5 days before shipping a new one out.

Just curious, are you guys still shipping to Markham, ON? Last I heard they closed down their Canadian RMA center.
