I have ~20TB usable of space, 8 Hitachi's and 4 REDs in it plus a mirror OS drive and backup array. I still have room for another 4 drives and they will probably end up being REDs. I like the Hitachi but I see no difference between the two with WD owning them.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I just ordered 2 Western Digital Red 3TB SATA3 64MB Cache 3.5in Internal Hard Disk Drive HDD. Think it was the best choice.

I'm running the 3TB Reds in my NAS and they have been rock solid. I've heard the Greens work as well and are basically the same as the Reds but cheaper with slightly less speed.

I think the WD greens for DVRs or video surveillance are good as they are rated for 24/7 operation
