Question Four Drive RAID Card

Looking for suggestions on good RAID cards for around $200 (Plus or minus $50) with RAID 10 functionality.

I like LSI and Highpoint over adaptec these days. I find adaptec has fallen behind.

If you only need RAID 10
NCIX.com - Canada's Premier Computer Store - Online PC Discount Store, Buy Computer Accessories PACKARD
If you might want something more like RAID 5
LSI MegaRAID 9240-4I 4 Port 6Gbps PCIEx8 Low Profile SAS/SATA/RAID Controller Card Kit With Cables
Highpoint Option that would only be good for raid 0,1,10
Highpoint Rocketraid 2720SGL 8 Port SATA/SAS Low Profile PCI-E Controller Card 2720SGL&manufacture=Highpoint Technologies

None of these will be great for RAID 5,6 etc down the road, two of the cards can do it but I would not suggest it.

You can get an IBM m1015 off eBay for about $125 shipped to Canada. It is the same as an LSI 9211-8i.

+1 for the 9240.

I can't comment as to the other cards, but do be aware that the LSI cards "may" have compatibility issues with UEFI bios's. I got lucky and was able to make mine work with my P8Z77-I after significant amounts of messing about. If you are using an older board it's not an issue.

Seems all of the top OEM's are re branded LSI chips (Dell, etc.)... pretty much can't go wrong.
