Default moving raid drives from intel ICH9R

I was running an Abit IP35Pro/Q6600 system, and used the ICH9R chipset to do RAID 5 on 3 1.5TB drives.

Has anyone had experience moving an array from an ICH9R based board to a Z77 motherboard (ICH10 I think)?

I know the ideal is to get a separate hardware raid card to avoid this issue in the first place, but hoping I can just plug the drives in and have the new motherboard detect the array.

I did the exact same thing and had zero issues. Plugged the drives in and set the sata to raid and it found my array and booted to it. ICH10R it is.

Yup the 9 and 10 Intel southbridge RAID are compatible. The 7 is too I think but don't hold me to that :)

Thanks for the replies. Picked up an Asus Z77 motherboard and i5 3570K at tigerdirect black friday sale this morning, and it detected me array with no issues.
