Samsung 840 Pro Series 256GB 2.5in SATA3 MDX Solid State Disk Flash Drive SSD - 840 Pro

What do you guys think of this deal? Is it a good buy compared to the Neutron GTX at the moment?

The 840 Pro is supposed to be a pretty solid drive. If you want a 256GB SSD, I'd say go for it.

I would agree. It is more pricey than some other drives. But it is very good performing drive.

Honestly cant go wrong with either. BOTH are killer good kit.

Going from HDD to SSD is much more noticeable than SSD to SSD. Between those 2, go for the cheaper one. The $25 gift card + AC3 is damn good if you planned to purchase it anyway.

I was looking at those. Been kind of hoping for an update on another review site due to a comment in their conclusions:

"Our replacement 840 Pro also died prematurely, I'd recommend holding off any purchases until we hear back from Samsung as to the cause of death."

That was the last week in Spetember so I'm not sure what ever came of that.

Both are good, I went with a vertex 4 myself and it is by far the fastest drive I have personally used.

I've had the Samsung 830 256 GB now for over a year. No issues what so ever. Been solid.

How this drive vs a comparable Crucial M4? i'm trying to weigh the two and pick.

Side by side for a normal user, you won't notice any difference.
