The latest Velociraptor is indeed a very speedy drive, and complements an SSD boot drive very well. If you are after speed and capacity, a three-platter 3TB Seagate Barracuda is also quite fast, although the access times are slower. WD's Velociraptor line is great for RAID arrays as it also has TLER, and is built to enterprise standards (longer MTBF, power cycles).
