Formatting SD: Windows or Dedicated SD formatter?
 

So when I used to play on the Nintendo DS, PSP, etc. etc., a lot of people would say that Windows is no good when it comes to formatting SD cards, and that I should use the Panasonic SD formatter. Is there any truth in this? Does it really make a difference?

I've not had any problems formatting SD cards in Windows.

I'm pretty sure all OS' are good at erasing stuff... Kinda like watching porn.

The best way IMO is to format the SD card on the device you want to use it with, so it can't complain about how it is formatted.

Some very pesky devices don't like the way Windows doesn't put a partition on SD cards (and USB sticks). I've only seen this problem with phones though.
I think you can use diskpart to put the partition in that case, or Linux disks.
