Marvell Chipsets Question.

Just thinking about raiding 2 sata III mechanical hard drives some time soon and was actually wondering if it was better running Raid 0 on the 6GB/s Marvell Chipset or the 3GB/s Intel chipset?

Thanks in advance guys.

Intel chipset.

Intel by far. I've never heard any good things about the Marvell controller and your HDDs won't saturate even SATA2.

I've got an X58 Gigabyte board and a Crucial M4. I prefer using the Intel 3Gb ports over the shite Marvel 6Gb ports. Proper drivers, TRIM support, etc.

I would only use marvell or any secondary sata controller ports for optical drives.
