Intel RST Required with SSD?

Wondering here.... Does Intel chipsets require Intel RST drivers if you're using a SSD? The only Intel chipset related drivers I installed are the Intel Management Engine Components and Intel INF.

I would install them. You'll get better SATA performance if you do.

IMHO the MSAHCI driver would be just fine as well.

Really? I thought it was only required for RAID because that's what the description says. What is he Intel INF for then? What are he proper drivers required for a Intel Z77 most motherboard aside from hose green drivers mentioned?

The INF drivers are for the chipset. IRST are the SATA drivers and software.

I take back my earlier post. I ran some tests and I heartily recommend RST 11.6
