Default RAID1 with Seagate Backup plus?

just came up with an interesting setup for archiving data, having a large SATA drive(2tb or greater) in a RAID 1 with a Seagate backup plus drive, with the seagate being the mirror. This way, if there's a drive error on either, you can restore it easily.

Also if you screw up the computer really bad, it could possibly act as the hardware equivalent of a system restore point.

Is it possible to do this, or am i just over-complicating It?
