single raid array on two raid controllers

Now, this may sound a bit stupid, but i want to know would it be possible to run a single raid 0 array using 4 SSD's on each of 2 raid controllers. As this way i will be able to overcome the read limit of 1.6G/bit

Now you may ask why I want to do this, and it is purely to see the absolute max read/write speeds possible

Nope not possible.

You can span arrays across controllers but the controllers have to support it OR if it's a data drive you could do a combo hardware/software raid. The supported controllers is the best way to do it, but your pocket book might not like it.

If this is purely for speed, just get a card that uses pcie 4x or 8x. The highpoint 2720 is capable and cheap.
