How to add HDD as storage?

I currently have a ocz agility 3 120gig on my pc and I want to use my old HDD as storage, mainly for games.
My plan is to disconnect the sata cable on my ssd, connect it to my hdd, reformat/delete its content, and reinstall all my game folders to the hdd. Will my pc atomically detect my hdd as D drive?

Suggestions are very much appreciated.

You don't have to disconnect anything, just grab an extra SATA cable, connect it to both your motherboard and HDD, hook up a power cable to the HDD and boot into Windows. From there you can choose to reformat if you wish, or move your games with either Steam Mover, or other means.

What's your point with your image exactly? If you insist on labeling the HDD as "D", then just shuffle the CD-ROM label.

Nothing, I was just showing the result of what BryceBooth suggested.

You can change your drive letter by opening Disk Management, locate the hard drive on the right-hand side of the screen, right-click it and choose Change Drive Letter and Paths.

In the Change Drive Letter and Paths window, click the Change button. A dialog will appear where you can select a new letter from the drop-down box. Select the new letter, and click OK.

You will then receive a warning about changing said drive letter, and how it may have adverse affects on programs installed on the drive. So long as you do not have software installed on it (most software defaults to the primary drive) click Yes, done.

The letter "G" is for Gangsta, I'd just roll wit' it.
