Default USB 3.0 Flash Drive Recommendation

Hey Everyone,

I'm looking to pick up a 8-16GB Flash drive or two to use for mobile programs when I'm hoping between my work laptop, site laptop and home PC (okay I've been playing minecraft at work, shhhhhh).

Any recommendations for a good, fast 3.0 drive. I had looked at the Corsair Voyageur 3.0s but reviews are saying they barely run over 2.0 speeds making it a bit of a pointless upgrade.

Any tips or suggestions you have would be appreciated.

I've got a 3.0 voyager and speeds have been great. No complaints, especially at the price I got it for.

Good to hear. Maybe the review I read was just a bad sample.

Purchased a Mushkin Ventura 16Gb for less than $20 on sale and am very happy with the speeds. Seems like a solid little drive as well. It has convinced me that all my next flash drive purchases will be USB 3 compatible.

It's more dependant on the quality of the memory etc than the USB speed.. Buy cheap you get cheap.

I picked up a 16GB Sony from Future Shop. It's at least 5 times as fast as USB 2.0 Maybe even faster.

+1 to Mushkin Ventura. I have a 32GB and it's pretty darn quick. Plus it's a nice solid feeling aluminum design with a cap that clips onto the back so you don't lose it.

I have the Patriot Supersonic 32GB and it works pretty darn good. Very much faster than normal usb 2.

I have the 16GB version.. and to be honest it'a about as fast as my SSD card from my camera(really good card for when I got it) on USB 2... But again it has to do with the quality of the flash used.. Once you get to a certain level of quality the the USB 3 will show great benefit but do bugger all till then.
