Thumbs up SSD Price Drop!!

So don't know if you guys have noticed, but SSDs are finally nearing "sane" levels of pricing, that is under $1/GB after taxes and rebates. There's been a sudden drop in the past couple weeks. Anyone know what's up?

I guess if I or anyone out there was to build a new computer right now, if they waited a couple more weeks SSDs would become even cheaper?

The pricing of nand has been crashing this business quarter due to overstock from the previous business quarter. This is triggering a price war in the SSD market. Great news for consumers.

I grabbed a 128GB Chronos for $80 last week. I hope this trend continues.

I just picked up a 120GB M4 for the exact same price as I paid for my 64GB M4 six months ago.

So far, I'm happy with this pricing trend.

Until prices fall below $100 for 250GB+ units I will pass on these wastes of cash.

Whut? REally? SSD is the best money I have ever spent on computer parts. Everyone who has ever used my computer that has never even heard of an SSD is like OMG that is the fastest how the hell is that so fast. Even though I have some pimp other parts and a nice OC I just say "SSD, no moving parts".

I will never use a computer without one again.

Because a faster storage drive won't help for one FPS or help me manage my PC any better. A 10 year old IDE drive is going to work the exact same in game than any SSD. Sure the SSD will kill it in loading speeds and starting Windows, I don't dispute that. 99% of the people running SSD's still need a mechanical storage drive for keeping everything.

Until prices drop, it makes no sense, unless you have money to burn, to pay so much for so little storage.
