Purchase New SSD (perhaps)

I'm debating purchasing a new SSD was curious if you guys think they will keep dropping in price (am I better to wait another few weeks?)? I know the Vertex 4 is coming out and presume others are soon to follow.

The ones I was looking at not sure which would be best

ADATA 120GB on for $109 (after MIR's) (not sure how they are for MIR's)
Vertex 3 120GB $129.99 (after MIR's)
Crucial M4 $149.99

Not sure which would be the best out of these and I know there are quite a few other brands as well.

i don't know about dropping the price but what I have noticed is the tendency to launch larger capacities at the same price points. Like for example 120GB to be launched at around 120$ which was the price of the 60GB

I just bought a Crucial M4 128GB pricematched to $139 (look for the memory place). I assume I'll have to flash to firmware 0309 when I get it if it's a 0009 firmware version, but some people that bought in March got drives already running 0309!

$139 for 128GB, the M4 being one of the most popular drive! Well, there is quite a lot of SSD's on sale all over the place....


Time to retire the 'ol trusty OCZ VERTEX 1 (indilinx barefoot) from 2009 (costed me $300 cdn pricematched back in the day) that lasted a good while! It's now down to 65% health and still working fine I guess I've been lucky!

I'm really happy with my Crucial M4's. I have two 256GB's and before that I had two 128's. I've also installed quite a few for clients and never really had an issue.. *knocks on wood*

If you can afford to spend the bit more look into grabbin the cronos deluxe like I got or else hold off on grabbin a vertex 4 for a few months if you can for a firmware revision.

I cancelled my Crucial M4 128GB ($139) order and switched to a Corsair Performance Pro 128GB.

Looking good! it's selling for $179 after $20 US MIR aver at NCIX right now.
