Intel smart response, mSATA slot mobo, SATAIII SSD, and RamDisk question I was wondering if my build has SATAIII SSD, and a MomentusXT SATAIII, if I would gain any performance by installing a mSATA SSD on a Gigabyte z68/z77 board, with a msata slot built in, will intel smart response tech on msata outperform a cherryville SSD? I dont see how based on the specs of msata ssd's, otherwise intel smart response would be on SB-E/X79, but wanted to ask. I suppose it would save my main SSD some writes/reads if nothing else prolonging the life. these mSATA SSD's are pretty cheap so I was curious. Would setting a ramdisk be a smart thing with only 16gb of ram? so using 4GB of the 16GB as a ramdisk for example, I'm concerned it may reduce my performance. Thanks for the help, see my build below... |
You could use an mSATA SSD with the momentusXT, but im not too sure how well that would work. |
