Unhappy eVGA 780i + Syba SY-PEX40039 PCIe Sata III card issue

Hey guys,

New to the forums here.
So I recently bought a Crucial m4 256GB SATAIII SSD. Since my eVGA 780i mobo doesn't support SATA3 nor AHCI, I bought a PCIe SATAIII 2.0 add-in card (Syba SY-PEX40039).
When I boot up, I see:

Asmedia 106X SATA/PATA Controller Ver 0.89 AHCI Mode
Copyright (C) Asmedia Technologies, Inc. All Right reserved.
S.M.A.R.T. Supported
Using PCIE Gen 1
Crucial m4 256GB SATA3
Seagate 7200.11 500GB SATA1

My video card is plugged into the top PCIe slot, and the Syba card is plugged into the bottom PCIe slot (The mobo is a tri-SLI board with PCIE 2.0 in the top and bottom slots, and PCIE 1.0 in the middle -- middle PCIe slot is unused).

I'm only getting approx SEQ. 200MB/s read and 170MB/s writes. I'm only getting 7.5 on WEI as well. Feels like SATA II speeds as opposed to SATA III speeds.

My System Specs

i think there is an option in the bios where you make sure the PCIE speeds are Gen 2, I had something like that in the bios of my Asus M4N (nVidia 740i chipset). Yep, newegg reviewers say the same thing Newegg.ca - SYBA SY-PEX40039 PCI-Express 2.0 SATA III (6.0Gb/s) Controller Card

I find it VERY hard to believe your 780i board does not support AHCI. SATA3 I can believe but I guarantee you it does AHCI.

And I would much rather run that SSD off the board and not that card as I'm gonna say that card probably doesn't proper functions to run a SSD.
