My System Specs

Default 120GB Crucial or 60GB Crucial + steam games?

Basically I wanna know what can I use the extra 60GB, seems puny though, for?
I will be using my SSD as a boot drive & drivers, will be upgrading to windows 8 if it is good. Will I have enough headroom if I buy the 60GB SSD?

And is the performance between the 60 & 120GB a huge difference?

EDIT: Is it really not worth buying a SSD with SF controller? Even though they are equally fast but cheaper.

Have you considered the Intel 520 120GB? Better in every way and is on sale NOW at NCIX for $159CDN.

WOW did SSD's go down in price overnight?

Personally I would go with the 120. I run my system off a 128 and that's it. I got win 7, bf3, sc2, d3 beta and I still got 60 gb left over.

Ok, cause I read through the forums and everyone seems to like crucial alot. But I don't see the offer though, sure would be good if it's still on...

Always get the largest, fastest SSD you can AFFORD. There is a performance difference between the 64s and 128s. BUT more importantly with all that extra room you are giving the controller more room to work with for its wear leveling algorithms....and as your steam list grows you will have the extra space to handle it.

IMHO unless you can afford a Intel 520 OR a Toggle Mode NAND Based drive like the Vertex 3 MAXIOPS...Id get the Crucial M4.

The other SF2281 drives on the market are good - the Intel 520 and V3 MAxiops are GREAT drives- but for first time users the M4 is a more forgiving, easier to deal with controller (the Intel toolbox is what makes the 520 the exception to this rule of thumb). Cant go wrong with a M4 or Corsair Performance Pro.

My windows install with all my software and bf3 (15gb) + tribes ascend (4gb) take 41gb... A 60gb is plenty, just count what you want on it.
